CanAssist develops innovative technologies to make life easier

CanAssistCanAssist's core objective is to help bring about the increased inclusion and accessibility in society of those with special needs. As a program at the University of Victoria, they work to achieve this goal by developing innovative technologies, programs and services that make life easier and more rewarding for those with disabilities. At the same time, they focus on increasing awareness of disability issues throughout the campus and in the wider community.

At CanAssist, they believe that people with disabilities must be given every opportunity to participate fully in society and that their achievements be celebrated. As such, everything they do involves working to improve the quality of life of those with special needs and their families.

CanAssist works on projects in response to requests from an individual, caregiver, parent, therapist, teacher or agency service provider.  Projects are tailored to meet each client's individual needs.

If you think that they can help you or someone you know, please get in touch with them in one of the following ways:

They will review your request and contact you as soon as possible – usually within a week to 10 days. If they can find a solution that already exists, they will direct you to its source and assist you in determining its suitability.
