VOLUNTEER INVITATION

11th Annual RCD International Wheelchair Curling Bonspiel – Canadian Open
November 15 to 19, 2017, Richmond Curling Club

The Richmond Centre for Disability (RCD) is seeking Rock Cleaner Volunteers to assist with the Bonspiel.

This competitive tournament showcases the exceptional skills of athletes with disabilities. Wheelchair curling is different in rules and they do not have sweepers. Therefore we recruit volunteers to clean the rocks for athletes during the competition, to ensure smooth play and full exhibition of performance and talents of athletes.

Duties
The duties involved cleaning the rocks at each end and line them up for the athletes. There is no pre-requisite but more suitable for people who are able to move and bend freely, and stand for 2 hours on the Ice Rink.

Registration Process

1. Fill out the Bonspiel Volunteer Registration Form in its entirety
2. Check the Volunteer Schedule and confirm your availability
3. Return to Ian Yeung at RCD: ian@rcdrichmond.org or drop off at RCD Office or fax to 604-232-2415
4. RCD will confirm or negotiate your schedule
5. Mark on your calendar to attend the Volunteer Training session on Friday November, 10, 2017 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
6. All new volunteers must attend the volunteer training session; failing to do so may render your application incomplete
7. Volunteer training is optional for returning volunteers but highly recommended
