RCD Annual Fundraising Gala - Oct 20, 2012

The RCD will be hosting our Annual Fundraising Gala on October 20th, 2012 at the River Rock Casino Resort The special theme this year is “Viva Las Vegas – A Tribute to Elvis”.

Ticket for the 2012 RCD Fundraising Gala is available for purchase at the RCD; tickets are priced at $88 each with a $20 tax deductible portion. For 2012, the Annual Fundraiser event aims to raise $50,000. The funds we raise each year go to provide direct services to people with disabilities and empower them to lead a more independent life and to participate in the community to the best of their ability.

Viva Las Vegas was a 1964 American romantic musical movie starring music icon Elvis Presley; this film is regarded by fans and by film critics as one of Elvis’ best movies.  RCD is bringing the phenomenon to Richmond and “Elvis” is giving a hand with the fundraising event.  Darren Lee, an Edmonton born Canadian, will appear at the Gala and give a highly acclaimed performance as a Tribute Artist of Elvis.  Darren was the first Canadian rated as the No.1 Elvis Tribute Artist in the World in Memphis, on August 16, 1997 on the very day of the 20th Anniversary of Elvis’ death.  Find out more about Darren Lee on his website at www.Darren-Lee.com.

Even if you can’t make it, you can donate a ticket for a RCD volunteer to attend this spectacular function. We thank you in advance for your generosity!

When you make your reservation, tell them you are with the “Richmond Centre for Disability” group; you will get a special rate of $139 for a Standard Room or $169 for a 1-Bedroom Suite. The accessible rooms are mostly in the 1-Bedroom Suite, but some are also available in the Standard Room.
