RCD 2014 Children & Youth Summer Camp
A specialized summer camp for children with diverse abilities
Date: July 7 – August 22, 2014 (No Summer Camp for the Week of August 4)
Time: Monday to Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
(Except weekly Field Trip Days, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. or otherwise advise)
Venue: Garratt Wellness Centre (7504 Chelsea Place, Richmond, BC)
Fee: $80 per week per participant
(CKNW Summer Camp Subsidy - Limited subsidy is available for low income families; call Ella at 604-232-2404 for more info.
A Subsidy Application needs to be completed; submission of application does not guarantee subsidy approval.)
Participants:
Children & youth with special needs, age 6 to 16

- Arts and Crafts, Music and Dance
- Outdoor Sports and Playground Activities (weather permits)
- Weekly Field Trips
- Weekly Cooking Class
Field Trip: Thursday or Friday – Whole Day Field Trip, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (may change)

Volunteer Recruitment for 2014 Summer Camp
Volunteers are needed to assist summer camp staff in implementing activities and supervising children. There are training opportunities and work under supervision. The position is perfect for high school students fulfilling volunteer hours. Moreover, the experience is very rewarding through the support and care provided to children with disabilities.

Volunteering commitment is based on weekly sign-up: Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Every week there will be a Field Trip day, on either Thursday or Friday; volunteers are expected to stay with the summer camp for the entire day, tentatively 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
We ask volunteers to sign up for the entire week if possible; and we especially need volunteers on Field Trip days.
All NEW volunteers need to attend an interview, and ALL volunteers (returning and new) are required to join the training on Friday, July 4, 2014, tentatively from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Garrett Wellness Centre where the summer camp will be held.
